Early leaks have already started shedding light on what to expect from the upcoming devices. The OPPO Reno 16 is tipped to feature a compact 6.32-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, making it suitable for users who prefer smaller form factors without compromising on visual quality. Under the hood, it could be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500, which is expected to deliver improved performance and efficiency over its predecessor.
The Reno 16 Pro, meanwhile, is rumored to take things a step further with a larger 6.78-inch 1.5K LTPO OLED display supporting a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. It is likely to be powered by the more advanced MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset. One of the standout upgrades could be its massive 7,000mAh battery, paired with 80W fast charging and wireless charging support-features that could significantly boost its appeal in the premium mid-range segment.
In terms of optics, both models are tipped to sport a 200-megapixel primary rear camera with OIS, suggesting a major leap in imaging capabilities. Overall, the Reno 16 series is expected to bring notable upgrades over its predecessors, especially in performance, battery life, and camera hardware, positioning it as a strong contender in its segment once officially launched.
