Oppo Reno 3 Processor Confirmed, Reno 3 Pro To Arrive With VOOC 4.0
Oppo Reno 3 smartphones are all set to be unveiled in the company's home market China on December 26. After confirming the launch date, Oppo has started revealing the details of these new devices one by one. In a recent development, the details regarding the processor of the Reno 3 has been confirmed.

Already, we know that the Reno 3 Pro will use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset. This was announced soon after the launch of the three new chipsets from Qualcomm earlier this month. Now, it has confirmed that the Oppo Reno 3 standard variant will use a MediaTek Dimensity 1000L 5G SoC.
Oppo Reno 3 Features
Oppo has started accepting registrations from the interested users via its official website. It teases a slew of features that will be integrated within the smartphone. At the bottom of this page, it has been confirmed that the Oppo Reno 3 will use the MediaTek Dimensity 1000L 5G chipset.
While this processor is yet to be announced, it is expected to be a relatively toned-down variant of the new MediaTek Dimensity 1000 SoC, which was launched last month. Notably, the upcoming smartphone was spotted using the Dimensity 1000L 5G SoC on the benchmarking platform AnTuTu recently.
Oppo Reno 3 Pro To Support VOOC 4.0
When it comes to the Oppo Reno 3 Pro, the company's VP Brian Shen took to Weibo to confirm that the smartphone will arrive with an improved version of VOOC 4.0. It is said that this technology can charge the smartphone up to 50% in just 20 minutes and up to 100% in 56 minutes. Though the executive did not shed light on the battery capacity, a TENAA listing suggested the presence of a 3935mAh battery.
Talking about the VOOC 4.0 fast charging technology, it was launched in September and is capable of charging a 4000mAh battery up to 100% in just 73 minutes. This makes us believe that the Reno 3 Pro will have a relatively smaller battery.
Here's What We Think
Going by the leaks and official confirmations, the Oppo Reno 3 series is likely to feature a punch-hole display with curved edges. It is believed that Oppo will bring almost all the necessary features that will make it compete against the Redmi K30 5G and other affordable 5G smartphones slated to be launched in the coming months.
