Redmi K30 5G, The World’s First 5G Smartphone With 64MP Sensor Launched
Finally, after weeks of rumors and speculations, Redmi K30 5G has been announced at an event in China. The brand also took the wraps off a slew of other devices including Redmi AC2100 Router, Redmi XiaoAI smart speaker, and RedmiBook 13 laptop. The company has also confirmed that there will be a Redmi K30 4G variant.
The Redmi K30 5G carries the credits of being the world's first 5G smartphone to feature a 64MP Sony IMX686 camera sensor. The other highlights of the smartphone are dual selfie cameras, 120Hz refresh rate, and more. The 4G variant of the Redmi K30 will get the power from a Snapdragon 730G SoC.
Redmi K30 5G Specifications
Redmi K30 5G bestows a 6.67-inch FHD+ display with a dual punch-hole cutout and curved edges. The screen has a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels, an aspect ratio of 20:9 and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The new smartphone from Redmi sports a frosted AG glass back and is protected by Gorilla Glass 5 on both sides.
Under its hood, it comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 SoC, which was launched recently with an inbuilt 5G modem. The 5G smartphone features a 12-antenna design, supports dual-frequency GPS and gets the power from a 4500mAh battery. And, there is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor on the Redmi offering.
While the Redmi K30 5G battery is accompanied by 30W fast charging technology. It is touted to charge the battery completely in just 66 minutes, the Redmi K30 4G uses 27W fast charging.
When it comes to the storage and RAM options, the Redmi K30 5G is available in four configurations such as 6GB RAM + 64GB ROM, 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM, 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM and 12GB RAM + 256GB ROM. It boots Android 10 topped with MIUI 11 out-of-the-box.
Redmi K30 5G Camera
On the optics front, the Redmi K30 5G comes with a quad-camera system at its rear comprising a 64MP Sony IMX686 primary sensor. This is assisted by three other sensors such as an 8MP secondary super-wide-angle lens, a tertiary 5MP macro lens, and a fourth 2MP depth sensor. The 4G variant also uses similar camera support with the difference being the 2MP macro lens instead of the 5MP lens.
At the front, both the variants of the Redmi K30 come with dual selfie cameras comprising a 20MP primary camera sensor and a 2MP secondary depth sensor. Also, there are AI imaging capabilities.
Redmi K30 Price And Variants
The Redmi K30 5G is priced at RMB 1999 (approx. Rs. 20,000) for the 6GB RAM + 64GB ROM variant, RMB 2299 (approx. Rs. 23,000) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM variant, RMB 2599 (approx. Rs. 26,000) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM variant, and RMB 2899 (approx. Rs. 29,000) for the 8GB RAM + 256GB ROM variant.
On the other hand, the Redmi K30 4G variant is priced at RMB 1599 (approx. Rs. 16,000) for the 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM variant, RMB 1699 (approx. Rs. 17,000) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM variant, RMB 1899 (approx. Rs. 19,000) for 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM variant, and RMB 2199 (approx. Rs. 22,000) for the 8GB RAM + 256GB ROM variant.
Recently, the Redmi K30 was certified by the Indian certification agency BIS hinting that the device could be launched soon in India. This device will mark the all-new category of affordable 5G smartphones in the country.
