Poco X7 Pro Will Debut as India’s First Android 15-Based HyperOS 2.0 Smartphone: Here's What to Expect

Poco is gearing up to unveil a new smartphone in India. The Poco X7 Pro is currently in the works and might make its debut in India's mid-range soon. As of now, there is no official release date, although a new report by Smartprix suggest it will be the first smartphone to use HyperOS 2.0 in the country.

To recall, the Xiaomi 15 was the first to incorporate Android 15-based HyperOS 2.0, although the Xiaomi 15 models won't arrive until March 2025. Moreover, the Redmi Note 14 series launched in China with Android 14-based HyperOS and it will likely be the same when it arrives in India next month.

Poco X7 Pro Launch in India (Timeline)

However, the Poco X7 Pro could arrive with the latest version of Xiaomi's custom skin in January 2025. To recall, the Poco X6 Pro also made its debut in India back in January 2027. Additionally, the Poco X6 Pro also debuted in India as a rebranded version of the Redmi K70E.

The Redmi K80 series is launching in China later this month, although the line-up is only expected to include the Redmi K80 and K80 Pro, with no 'E' variant in sight. According to the report by Smartprix, the Poco X7 Pro could be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 14 Pro+.

Redmi Note 14 Pro+ Specifications

The Redmi Note 14 Pro+ is powered by a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chip, up to 16GB LPDDR5 RAM, and up to 512GB UFS 3.1 storage (256GB model uses UFS 2.2). It features a 6.67-inch 1.5K curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 3,000 nits peak brightness, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. It runs Android 14 with HyperOS.

The phone packs a 6,200 mAh silicon-carbon battery with 90W fast charging and Xiaomi's Pascal T1 signal chip. For cameras, it includes a 50MP main sensor with OIS, 8MP ultrawide, and a 50MP portrait lens. A 20MP front camera handles selfies. As of now, it is unclear whether the Poco X7 Pro will be a rebranded Redmi Note 14 Pro+, so we'd recommend taking this information with a pinch of salt.
