Redmi K20 MIUI 11 Update Starts Rolling Out In India
Xiaomi launched the latest iteration of its custom ROM, MIUI 11 in India a few days back. At the time of its launch, it was stated that the update will be rolled out to eligible smartphones starting from October 22. As confirmed, the Redmi K20 has started receiving the update to MIUI 11 in the country.
The smartphones slated to get the MIUI 11 update in the first batch of rollout between October 22 and October 31 are Redmi 7, Redmi Note 7, Redmi Note 7S, Redmi Note 7 Pro, Redmi K20, Redmi Y3, and Poco F1. Of these, the Redmi K20 is the first one to get the update. However, the K20 Pro is slated to get the new features that are part of the MIUI 11 update next month in the second phase of the rollout.
Redmi K20 MIUI 11 Update
The Redmi K20 users will get a notification regarding the update. Alternatively, users can check for the update by visiting Settings → About Phone → System Update. The update weighs around 766MB and has the software version number MIUI v11.0.2.0.PFJINXM. It also brings the Android security patch for September 2019.
MIUI 11 Changelog
The update brings a minimalistic design with the dedicated system-wide dark mode to the smartphone. Also, it optimizes the user experience, especially for the full-screen devices, including the Redmi K20 series. MIUI 11 brings Dynamic clock, custom codes, Kaleidoscope effects on the always-on lock screen. It has a notification light-like experience as well. The update brings a Wallpaper Carousel to users so that they can have a personalized lock screen experience.
Furthermore, this custom ROM provides natural sounds as well as notification effects, an all-new document viewer, which is integrated within the inbuilt File Manager app, preloaded Mi Share app, and more.
The Redmi K20 will get several notable optimizations and improvements, including optimizations to the in-display fingerprint sensor, the overall user interface, bug fixes, and more. The upgraded App Vault is also a part of the new design. There will be an updated Game Turbo too for auto-brightness and screenshot gesture support.
What We Think
It is interesting to see the mid-range smartphone get the latest features from the MIUI 11, which is the most recent iteration of the company's custom ROM. This shows the commitment that Xiaomi has to enhance the experience of its smartphone users.
