Redmi K30 Launch Likely Pegged For This Year, K30 Pro Could Be Delayed
The Redmi K20 was a unique smartphone to be churned out by the brand. It brought several firsts at its price point. Notably, the Redmi K20 came with high-end specifications at an affordable lower price point, which makes it one of the affordable flagships in the market.
As flagship smartphones from other brands were not compromising on the pricing front, the entry of Redmi into this space disrupted the segment and started a price war. Continuing its legacy, the company seems to be focused on bringing the next-generation affordable flagship in the Redmi K series with the Redmi K30.
Of course, the Redmi K20 is an impressive one featuring the Snapdragon 855 SoC, an AMOLED display with a notch, fast charging technology, triple rear cameras, and a premium design under Rs. 30,000. But the company seems to be geared up to make it even better for its users by working on its successor, the Redmi K30.
Redmi K30 Launch Details
Back in August this year, the Redmi General Manager Lu Weibing divulged that the Redmi K30 is in the making and will arrive with 5G support. He also shared a couple of teaser images lately revealing the design of the smartphone. This showed the presence of a dual selfie camera setup and a punch-hole design.
Now, a tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore has taken to Twitter to reveal that the Redmi K30 Pro will arrive next year. He added that the Redmi K30 will be launched this year while the Pro variant will arrive next year. However, these are just speculations and we cannot come to any conclusion without official confirmation. Moreover, it remains to be seen if the company will launch the upcoming smartphone in India or China first.
What We Think
If the Redmi K30 goes official with 5G support, then it will definitely be a massive hit as this next-generation connectivity standard is restricted only to high-end and premium offerings for now. Given that the Redmi K30 will be priced affordably, we can expect it to create a new wave of competition in this market segment.
