Redmi Note 12S Surfaces On FCC: Leaked Images Suggest Rebranded Android Smartphone
Xiaomi is planning to offer the Redmi Note 12 series, outside China and India. The lineup currently has five Android smartphones. It appears there's a mystery Redmi smartphone meant for the international market including India.
Although the name of the as-yet-unannounced Redmi smartphone hasn't been revealed, it could be the Redmi 12S. If the leaked images are accurate, Xiaomi could be trying to rebadge an older Redmi smartphone as a part of the Redmi Note 12 series, albeit with some cosmetic changes.

Redmi Note 12S Goes Through FCC With A MediaTek SoC?
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 series will make its global debut (outside China and India) on March 23 this year. Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Note 12 5G, Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G, Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G, Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition, and Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition. Additionally, there's the Redmi Note 12 4G.
Xiaomi hasn't indicated which of the aforementioned smartphones will be available in international markets. But, a new Redmi phone with the model number 2303CRA44A has surfaced on the US FCC (Federal Communications Commission) database.

The listing doesn't mention the name of the Redmi smartphone, but it includes images of the mystery device.
As per the images, the smartphone has a center-positioned punch-hole cutout at the top of its display to house the front-facing camera. The display has narrow bezels, and the right edge of the smartphone has the volume rocker and power button.
Previous reports about the Redmi Note 12S suggested that the smartphone could be powered by a MediaTek Helio SoC, like its predecessor. However, the name and specifications of the chipset are unknown at the moment.
Is The Redmi Note 12S A Rebranded Redmi Android Smartphone?
The smartphone has a rectangular camera island at the back that houses a large primary sensor and two other regular cutouts for the second and third camera modules, along with an LED flash. The Redmi branding is visible at the bottom. These cutouts appear quite similar to the ones on the Redmi Note 11S.
The FCC listing indicates the mystery Redmi smartphone will have support for 67W wired fast charging. Xiaomi has mentioned it will replace the MDY-11-EZ charger on the Redmi Note 11S with the new MDY-14-EU/EK/EL.
These subtle changes and the presence of the vertically-oriented rectangular rear camera island strongly suggest that Xiaomi could be offering the Redmi Note 11S as the Redmi Note 12S.
