Samsung Galaxy Note 9 to be released in July or August

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 could be hurried so that the device hits the market well in advance to compete with the 2018 iPhones.

The Galaxy Note 8 was launched in August last year and released in September. But its successor, the Galaxy Note 9 is believed to be hurried up for a July or August release this time. The buzz about the upcoming flagship from Samsung is that the device is expected to be released to the consumers before September when Apple will bring its 2018 lineup of iPhones.

As per a report from South Korea's The Investor, Samsung will start with the production of the OLED panels for the Galaxy Note 9 phablet next month. In comparison with the previous years, the production of the display panels is said to be two months ahead of the schedule. Notably, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is believed to arrive with a 6.38-inch OLED display panel, which is relatively larger than the 6.32-inch display on the Galaxy Note 8, which was unveiled last year.

It looks like Samsung is hurrying up its flagship phablet so that the device could compete with the upcoming iPhone Xs. As per the information by Ming-Chi Kuo, the well-known KGI Securities analyst, Apple is believed to release three iPhone models this year - iPhone Xs with a 5.8-inch display, iPhone Xs Plus with a 6.5-inch display and iPhone 9 with a 6.1-inch display.

All the three iPhones to be launched this year are likely to feature an edge-to-edge display, Face ID and TrueDepth Camera. The two iPhone Xs models are said to be equipped with an OLED display and the iPhone 9 might use an LCD panel. The latter is believed to feature a single rear camera and miss out on the 3D Touch feature.

Recently, we came across a report that the Galaxy Note 9 might not feature an in-display fingerprint sensor as it was claimed to earlier. Also, the device is said to make use of the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC in select markets such as the U.S. and the company's Exynos 9810 in the other markets just like the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 was spotted on the Geekbench benchmarking database yesterday shedding light on some of the key specifications. It was revealed that the device might be unveiled with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and feature 6GB of RAM.

Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ First Impressions

Last year, the Galaxy Note 8 was released a few days before the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus could be made available for the consumers. This year, with the alleged early launch, the company might have a solid two months of time for the Galaxy Note 9 to grab the market before the iPhones for this year are announced.
