Samsung Galaxy S23 FE Tipped to Feature Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Chipset

The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE might come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor if the latest rumor is to be believed. It is reported that this will help bring down the cost of the S23 FE, which will arrive as a slightly watered-down version of the premium S23 series.

Samsung Galaxy S23 FE Rumored Price

According to tipster Alex Connor, the Galaxy S23 FE will be powered by last year's Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset to "adjust the unit price." This move makes sense since smartphones with older chips retail for a lower price. The 8+ Gen 1 processor is manufactured using TSMC's 4nm process and offers better power efficiency and improved performance over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. Meanwhile, the flagship Galaxy S23 series will come equipped with the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE's attractive pricing will likely boost its sales. Currently, the Galaxy S23 costs $799.99 (around ₹66,265). There's talk that the FE version might be $150 cheaper than the S23, so we can expect it to cost around $650 (approximately ₹53,840).

Samsung Galaxy S23 FE Launch Rumors

Just last week, it was reported that Samsung plans to launch the latest Fan Edition Model, the Galaxy S23 FE, later this year. It will likely debut in the third quarter of 2023, around August or September. While Samsung's last FE variant, the Galaxy S21 FE, saw a limited launch, we can expect the Galaxy S23 FE to arrive in more countries this time.

Samsung unveiled the first FE model, the Galaxy S20 FE, in 2020. Although the S20 FE was very successful when it launched, its successor didn't fare even remotely close. The poor performance of the Galaxy S21 FE forced Samsung to discontinue the FE series last year. Hence, the Galaxy S22 FE did not see the light of day.
