Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra’s Periscope & Telephoto Lens Specifications Leaked

Don't Have Big Hopes for the Galaxy S24 Ultra's Camera

One of the most interesting pieces of information comes from reputable tipster Ice Universe, who has revealed details about the telephoto and periscope lens specifications of the upcoming Samsung flagship smartphone. According to the tipster, the Galaxy S24 Ultra will have a 10MP standard telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, as well as a 50MP periscope lens with 5x optical zoom.

The standout feature of this periscope lens is its optical format, which measures 1/2.52" with a sensor size of 0.7μm. To put this into perspective, Ice Universe compares it to the recently launched Xiaomi 13 Ultra smartphone, which also boasts a 50MP sensor with identical optical format and sensor size for both telephoto and periscope lenses, offering similar 3x and 5x optical zoom capabilities.

Surprisingly, Ice Universe was disappointed to learn that the upcoming Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphone would have the same telephoto lenses as its predecessor, the Galaxy S23 Ultra. He was one of several people who believed that the new phone would have significantly improved telephoto lenses.

Rumored Specs

Apart from optics, the Galaxy S24 Ultra is set to impress with its processing power. Leaks suggest that Samsung has chosen the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 "Made for Galaxy" System on Chip (SoC), manufactured by TSMC, to power this flagship device. This chipset promises blazing-fast performance, ensuring smooth multitasking, gaming, and app usage.

However, previous leaks had suggested that Samsung might opt for Exynos chipsets in a bid to manage production costs.

Furthermore, tipster "Tech Reve" recently unveiled that Samsung plans to offer the Galaxy S24 Ultra with configurations of up to 16GB of RAM and storage options reaching an impressive 2TB.
