Samsung Galaxy S26 Price in India Hiked for the First Time, Now Starts at ₹99,999

Samsung has increased the price of the Galaxy S26 in India, marking the first price hike for the flagship since its launch earlier this year. Both storage variants are now ₹12,000 more expensive, pushing the starting price of the compact flagship close to the ₹1 lakh mark.

The revised prices will come into effect from September 20. The price hike comes shortly after Apple increased the price of the iPhone 17 in India following the launch of its iPhone 18 Pro series and iPhone Duo.

Galaxy S26 Price Now Matches iPhone 17

The timing of Samsung's price revision is notable. Apple recently increased the starting price of the iPhone 17 in India from ₹82,900 to ₹99,900. As a result, the Galaxy S26 and iPhone 17 now sit at almost identical starting prices.

At launch, the Galaxy S26 was ₹5,099 more expensive than the iPhone 17. Samsung and Apple are also among the latest smartphone makers to increase flagship prices, following multiple price revisions from several Chinese manufacturers.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Specifications

The Galaxy S26 features a 6.3-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and up to 2,600 nits peak brightness. In India, the phone is powered by the Exynos 2600, while select markets, including the US, get the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy.

Other specifications include 12GB RAM, 256GB or 512GB storage, a 4,300mAh battery, 25W wired charging and wireless charging. The triple-camera setup comprises a 50MP primary sensor, 12MP ultrawide camera and 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.

The phone also gets Android 16 with One UI, Gorilla Glass Victus 2, an Armor Aluminum frame and IP68 water and dust resistance.

The Galaxy S26's new ₹99,999 starting price puts it directly against Apple's standard flagship in India. Availability is also becoming a factor, with limited stock reported across major online retailers.
