This is not new as Samsung usually launches several variants of flagship smartphones based on the storage configuration.

Both the smartphones will make use of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC in the US and China and the company's Exynos 9810 chipset in the other international markets. Notably, the newly launched Exynos 9810 SoC comes with artificial intelligence, deep learning and improved CPU and GPU performance.

From the existing reports, the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are believed to retain the same display as their predecessors. Well, to be precise, the Galaxy S9 is expected to come with a 5.8-inch display and the Galaxy S9+ is likely to feature a larger 6.2-inch display. Both are said to flaunt the Infinity Display panel with 18.5:9 aspect ratio as the yesteryear models. Even a leaked photo showing the screen protectors of the Galaxy S8+ and Galaxy S9+ shows that the side bezels and the screen-to-body ratio of the latter are almost similar to those of the former.

The previously leaked renders have hinted that the Galaxy S9 will sport a single rear camera while the larger variant will have a dual rear camera setup as the Galaxy Note 8.
