Samsung flagship smartphones for this year - the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are expected to be unveiled next month at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 tech show in Barcelona and go on sale in March. Having said that, these smartphones are being speculated heavily since the past few weeks.
We have already come across several rumors and leaks regarding the Galaxy S9 smartphone duo. These reports have shed light on what we can expect from the upcoming flagship models by revealing the details about the design and possible specifications. Now, a report from SamMobile citing a Weibo post reveals the RAM and storage variants of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+.
According to the report, the Samsung Galaxy S9 will be launched in two variants - one with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage space and the other with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage space. When it comes to the Galaxy S9+, the device will be launched with 6GB RAM and four different storage options - 64GB, 128GB, 256GB and 512GB. It is tipped that the high-end model of the Galaxy S9+ with 512GB storage space might be available only in select countries in limited quantity.
This is not new as Samsung usually launches several variants of flagship smartphones based on the storage configuration.
Both the smartphones will make use of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC in the US and China and the company's Exynos 9810 chipset in the other international markets. Notably, the newly launched Exynos 9810 SoC comes with artificial intelligence, deep learning and improved CPU and GPU performance.
From the existing reports, the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are believed to retain the same display as their predecessors. Well, to be precise, the Galaxy S9 is expected to come with a 5.8-inch display and the Galaxy S9+ is likely to feature a larger 6.2-inch display. Both are said to flaunt the Infinity Display panel with 18.5:9 aspect ratio as the yesteryear models. Even a leaked photo showing the screen protectors of the Galaxy S8+ and Galaxy S9+ shows that the side bezels and the screen-to-body ratio of the latter are almost similar to those of the former.
The previously leaked renders have hinted that the Galaxy S9 will sport a single rear camera while the larger variant will have a dual rear camera setup as the Galaxy Note 8.
