Samsung Galaxy S9+ to have thinner bezels than Galaxy S8+

The Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ appear to be the worst kept secrets of Samsung as the upcoming flagship smartphones are hitting the rumor mills almost every other day.

Samsung Galaxy S9+ to have thinner bezels than Galaxy S8+

From the previously leaked reports, we have already seen that the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ smartphones will have thin bezels. There were some reports suggesting that the bezels will be reduced drastically in order to increase the screen-to-body ratio. But the same was later ruled out by another report and the leaked renders of the device claiming that the device will arrive with a similar display as the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+.

Now, a Twitter-based source Steve has posted a photo showing the side-by-side comparison of the screen protectors of the Galaxy S8+ and Galaxy S9+. The image shows that there is barely any difference between the two. The noticeable difference is that the bottom bezel of the Galaxy S9+ is slightly narrower than that of the Galaxy S8+. The difference between both the bottom bezels is just a millimeter or two and not much. Given that the 18.5:9 Infinity Display panel has already made the device appear tall, another millimeter more to it will not make it much different.

Apart from the difference in the thickness of the bottom bezel, there appears to be not much difference between the two screen protectors. The side bezels are as thin as they were on the previous generation model.

Earlier this week, we came across a report suggesting that Samsung has filed for a trademark registering for the name DeX Pad. Notably, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ were launched with the DeX Station that will give users a desktop-like experience on connecting the smartphone to a keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Likewise, the DeX Pad is believed to be a wireless charging station kind of device that might let users enjoy the desktop-like experience without docking the device on the accessory.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ smartphones are expected to be unveiled at the MWC 2018 tech show in the next month in Barcelona and we get to know more details when these flagship smartphones are official.
