Samsung Might Have Scrapped the Galaxy S26 Edge, but a “More Slim” Phone Is in the Works
Samsung’s next flagship lineup is shaping up to be one of its most confusing yet. First, everyone thought the Galaxy S26 Plus was getting replaced by a thinner Galaxy S26 Edge. Then, reports said the Edge was scrapped and the Plus was back.
And now, a new twist suggests Samsung might be working on something else entirely — a device codenamed “More Slim.”

The Edge Might Be Gone, but the Slim Idea Isn’t
According to a new report from Dutch publication GalaxyClub, Samsung has dropped the Galaxy S26 Edge but hasn’t given up on building a slim flagship phone. The company is said to be developing a new device internally referred to as “More Slim.”
The codename itself isn’t random. Samsung’s previous slim phone, the Galaxy S25 Edge, was known internally as “Slim.” That makes “More Slim” sound like a clear continuation — or perhaps a spiritual sequel — of that concept.
While the original Edge line struggled to find a clear identity between Samsung’s Plus and Ultra models, the company might now be repositioning the “Slim” idea as its own standalone line focused on sleek design.
What Went Wrong with the Galaxy S25 Edge
The Galaxy S25 Edge didn’t exactly take off. Despite its stylish design, it offered a smaller 3,900mAh battery and lacked a telephoto camera, making it hard to justify next to similarly priced options. The thinner design also meant compromises in battery life and thermals, which left some users underwhelmed.
If Samsung really is pushing for an even slimmer design this time, the big question is how it plans to balance style and practicality. A thinner body often means smaller batteries or fewer camera modules — two areas where Samsung can’t really afford to fall behind.
The “More Slim” Development Timeline
Reports suggest that the development of More Slim began several months ago, much later than the main Galaxy S26 series. That means it’s unlikely to launch alongside the Galaxy S26, S26 Plus, and S26 Ultra in early 2026. Instead, it could arrive later in the year, following the same pattern as the Galaxy S25 Edge, which launched months after the main lineup.
This staggered release could also help Samsung test the market response before committing to another thin flagship in its regular cycle.
Will “More Slim” Revive the Edge Concept?
It’s possible that “More Slim” could effectively serve as the next Galaxy Edge, just without the name. The phone is rumored to be even thinner than the S25 Edge — possibly dipping below 5.8mm in thickness — while avoiding the exaggerated curved screen design that once defined the Edge line.
If done right, this could become Samsung’s way of offering a minimalist flagship alternative for those who want a premium phone that doesn’t feel bulky or overdesigned.
But as of now, there’s no confirmed release date or official acknowledgment from Samsung. And given how many times the company’s plans have reportedly shifted for the S26 lineup, it’s best to take every new rumor with caution.
