Samsung Tri-Fold Smartphone Launch Confirmed for End of 2025: Report

At its Unpacked 2025 event in January, Samsung teased the arrival of its first tri-fold smartphone. A recent leak through One UI 8 code has provided more insights into this device. Now, a new report sheds light on its launch timeline.

Samsung Tri-Fold Smartphone Launch Timeline Revealed

According to The Korea Times, a Samsung executive has confirmed that the company plans to launch its first tri-fold smartphone by the end of this year. "As we dive deeper into AI, the role of smartphones is becoming more important," said Roh Tae-moon, acting head of Samsung Electronics' Device Experience Division.

Roh further added, "We are now focusing on perfecting the product and its usability, but we have not decided its name. As the product nears completion, we are planning to make a final decision soon." However, earlier leaks hinted that the device might be called the "Galaxy G Fold."

Samsung Tri-Fold Smartphone - What to Expect?

Samsung's tri-fold smartphone is expected to feature two inward-folding hinges, forming a G-shaped fold. The animation also suggests the tri-fold will consist of three rear panels.

The left-most panel is likely to house a triple rear camera setup, similar to what we see on the current Galaxy Z Fold lineup. The middle panel is expected to include the cover display and front-facing camera.

Moreover, the right-most panel appears to lack bezels-indicating it may not be a screen but rather a supporting panel-mirroring the design of Samsung Display's Flex G prototypes. This approach aims to ensure a seamless, durable fold without stressing the display.

Additionally, the Samsung Tri-fold is expected to come with a display between 9.9 to 10 inches when unfolded, ensuring a tablet-like experience. Another leak suggests Samsung aims for just 200,000 units of its Tri-fold phone this year. Other details like processor and battery are still unknown at this moment.
