Sharp AQUOS V Launched With SD835 SoC: Features, Price, Availability, More


Sharp had launched a new smartphone, the Sharp AQUOS V. The Japanese brand, popular for consumer electronics, has launched a couple of smartphones earlier. The new Sharp AQUOS V was launched in Taiwan, after many leaks and rumors over the past few months. However, the new smartphone is powered by the outdated Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor.

Sharp AQUOS V Specs, Features

The Sharp AQUOS V smartphone features a 5.93-inch Full HD+ display. The camera aspects of the smartphone are dual-camera setup at the rear with two 13MP sensors. There's an 8MP front-facing selfie camera. The smartphone comes in a single variant, packing 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. Sharp has provided a microSD card slot for storage expansion, up to 256GB.

Sharp is branding the AQUOS V as a 'national flagship'. However, as mentioned, the Sharp AQUOS V features the old Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 10nm processor which was released in 2017. Right now, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset is the latest flagship smartphone chipset. The smartphone runs the Android 9 Pie operating system out-of-the-box.

Other features of the Sharp AQUOS V smartphone include a 3.5mm headphone jack. There's a fingerprint sensor at the read of the smartphone for security purposes. Connectivity ports include support for Bluetooth 5.0 and other standard connectivity options. The Sharp AQUOS V is packed with a 3,126mAh battery that can be charged through a USB Type-C port. So far, Sharp has not confirmed if the smartphone has fast charging support.

Sharp AQUOS V Price, Availability

The Sharp AQUOS V was launched in Taiwan with a retailing price of NT$6,990, roughly converts to Rs. 16,500. The smartphone is expected to be available through the European and Asian markets soon, but Sharp has not announced a particular launch date yet.

In India, brands like Samsung, Realme, Xiaomi Redmi, Honor, Vivo, and more, offer premium smartphones under Rs. 20,000 with some of the latest features. One can wait and watch how well the Sharp AQUOS V fares with the audience.
