Just a couple of days back, we came across the alleged renders of the Sony Xperia XZ1 showing the possible design and the key specifications of the smartphone. Now, we have the Xperia X1 Compact caught in action.
From the renders of the smartphone leaked by the Twitter user @OnLeaks, it is clear that the device will have a similar design as the Xperia XZ1 except for its smaller footprint. The handset appears to feature an all-metal unibody design with the usual positioning of the selfie camera, sensors and earpiece. There appears to be a cutout below the display that could be for the front-facing speaker. We believe that the fingerprint scanner will be embedded into the power button at the right below which is the volume rocker. At the bottom of the right edge, there appears to be a dedicated power button.
The renders further reveal the presence of a USB Type-C port at the bottom along with a microphone. It looks like Sony hasn't removed the 3.5mm audio jack as the same is seen at the top. On flipping the device, the rear panel is seen featuring the primary camera and LED flash next to each other.
Detailing on the specifications, the Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact is believed to bestow a 4.6-inch HD 720p display and employ a Snapdragon 835 SoC paired with 4GB RAM. The smartphone is said to run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS out of the box and get the power from a 2600mAh battery. The other aspects that we expect from the upcoming Sony smartphone remain to be unknown for now.
Sony is already speculated to launch three smartphones right before the debut of the IFA 2017 tech show on August 31. We expect to witness the launch of the Xperia XZ1 - the flagship model, the Xperia XZ1 Compact - the smaller variant of the flagship and the Xperia X1 - a mid-range smartphone.
