Sony Xperia XZ1 India launch will happen today: What we know so far
Sony Xperia XZ1 is all set to launch today.
The Sony Xperia XZ1 was unveiled at the recently concluded IFA 2017 a few weeks back. The company launched two more phones - Xperia XZ1 Compact and Xperia XA1 Plus too at the tech show.
After launching the Xperia XA1 Plus in India in the last week, the company is all set to launch the Xperia XZ1 today in the country. As of now, there is no sign that the XZ1 Compact will be launched in India. Today, Sony is all set to host an event in New Delhi at 11:30 AM to launch the flagship Xperia XZ1 in the country. As it is a high-end offering, we can expect it to be priced at a premium.
Already Sony announced that the smartphone will be shipped along with the Android 8.0 Oreo from this month. We are yet to see if the same is the case even in India.
The major highlight of the Sony Xperia XZ1 is its 19MP MotionEye Exmor RS sensor camera with 3D scanning capabilities. The main camera at the rear has a 5-axis stabilization and can record slow-motion videos at a frame rate of 960 fps just as the Xperia XZ Premium. Also, there is support for 4K video recording. There is a 13MP selfie camera with 22mm wide-angle lens, f/2.0 aperture, and Exmor RS mobile imaging sensor.
When it comes to the other specifications, the Sony Xperia XZ1 boasts of a 5.2-inch FHD 1080p HDR display with the X-Reality and Triluminous display technologies and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The smartphone is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage space that can be expanded up to 256GB using a microSD card. The other aspects on board the smartphone include 4G LTE, USB OTG, USB Type-C port, GPS, Bluetooth, IP68 certification, and a 2700mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology.
The Sony smartphone is available in both single and dual-SIM variants and we can get the latter to hit the Indian market. The smartphone was launched in Moonlit Blue, Venus Pink, Warm Silver, and Black but we need to wait to know if all these colors will be available in India too.
