Vivo U20 8GB RAM Variant India Launch Date Revealed: Price And Availability

A few days back Vivo took the wraps off one of the much-awaited budget smartphones, the Vivo U20. Well, this is the second smartphone in the online-only U series from the brand and is exclusive to the online retailer Amazon India.

Given that the Vivo U20 has been launched late last month, it has already gone on sale and is expected to be a hit among the budget smartphone buyers just like its predecessor. Initially, the company launched the device in two storage configurations - 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM and 6GB RAM + 64GB ROM.

Now, it looks like Vivo is all set to launch a high-end variant of the smartphone with increased RAM and storage space. Well, the talk is about the variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage space. A report by 91mobiles suggests that this high-end variant of the Vivo U20 will be available via the offline stores instead of being exclusive to online stores from December 12.

Furthermore, the report citing retail sources goes on stating that the 8GB RAM + 128GB variant of the Vivo U20 will be priced at Rs. 18,990. For the uninitiated, the Vivo U20 4GB RAM variant is priced at Rs. 10,990 and the 4GB RAM variant is priced at Rs. 11,990. These variants of the smartphone are available in Blaze Blue and Racing Black color variants.

To recall, the Vivo U20 is an upgraded smartphone than its predecessor, the Vivo U10, which was launched in India a few months back. It comes with a bigger 6.51-inch Halo FullView display with FHD+ resolution and a notch to house the selfie camera. Under its hood, this smartphone uses an improved Snapdragon 675 SoC and a 5000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging technology.

For imaging, there are triple cameras at the rear comprising a 16MP Sony IMX499 primary sensor, an 8MP secondary super wide-angle lens, and a 2MP tertiary macro lens. At the front, there is a 16MP selfie camera within the notch. The camera features include AR stickers, AI capabilities, 4K video recording, time-lapse, slo-mo video recording, and more.

Given that the Vivo U20 is an improved offering in the affordable smartphone market, we suggest it to be one of the best devices for buyers looking for a long-lasting device. While the 4GB and 6GB RAM variants are affordable, the high-end 8GB RAM variant seems to be expensive but we need to wait for an official confirmation from the company.
