Vivo V60 Reportedly Launching on August 12; India Price and Specifications Tipped
Vivo appears to be gearing up for another addition to its V-series lineup in India. According to a new report from SmartPrix, the Vivo V60 is expected to debut on August 12, potentially serving as a rebranded version of the Vivo S30 that launched in China.
That wouldn’t be out of the ordinary—Vivo has often reshaped its Chinese models for the Indian market, with tweaks in design, software, or minor specs to suit regional preferences.
Display and Design
The Vivo V60 is expected to feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen, with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. That’s fairly standard in this segment now, but the reported 1300 nits of High Brightness Mode (HBM) could make it more usable outdoors compared to dimmer panels on similarly priced phones.
An in-display fingerprint scanner is also tipped, along with IP68/IP69 dust and water resistance
Performance and Software
Under the hood, the V60 may be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, paired with UFS 2.2 storage. While the Gen 4 chip is new and expected to bring performance gains over Gen 3, the use of UFS 2.2 (as opposed to the faster UFS 3.1 or 4.0) suggests some cost-saving choices.
The phone will reportedly run Android 16 out of the box, skinned with FunTouch OS 16. Interestingly, Vivo may overhaul FunTouch OS this time, with whispers about integrating elements from OriginOS, its China-exclusive interface. If that happens, Indian users might see a cleaner or more streamlined UI experience compared to past Vivo phones.
Camera Setup
At the heart of the Vivo V60’s pitch seems to be photography. The phone will reportedly pack a 50MP front-facing selfie camera, likely aimed at creators and selfie-heavy users. On the rear, Vivo is said to include a triple camera setup:
- 50MP main sensor
- 8MP ultra-wide
- 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom
Big Battery and Fast Charging
Battery life won’t likely be an issue—the Vivo V60 is said to carry a 6500mAh battery with 90W fast charging.
Expected Price and Color Options
While nothing is official yet, the Vivo V60 is expected to be priced between ₹37,000 and ₹40,000 in India. It might launch in three finishes:
- Mist Grey
- Moonlit Blue
- Auspicious Gold
Vivo’s Broader Launch Pipeline
The V60 isn’t the only device in Vivo’s upcoming India roster. The company is also preparing to launch the Vivo T4R and the Vivo Y400 5G, likely targeting budget and entry-level 5G segments. These launches could help Vivo refresh its entire portfolio just ahead of the festive season.
