Vivo V9 listed on Amazon India: Expected price, specs and features

Vivo V9 appears to be similar to the X21 in terms of design.

Vivo X21 was unveiled in China on Monday. Just a day after its announcement, the company has posted an official teaser revealing the launch date of another device, the Vivo V9. The smartphone with a display notch is all set to be showcased in China on March 22 and announced in India on March 23. At the event on Friday, Vivo will announce the pricing and availability of the device in the Asian markets.

From the teaser posted by Vivo, we can expect the V9 to be similar to the X21 in terms of design and looks. Going by the same, the smartphone might feature a tri-bezel-less display, a high screen-to-body ratio and a display notch as on the iPhone X. While we have already seen a listing on the official website of Vivo revealing all the specs of the V9, the online retailer Amazon India has hosted a teaser page showing the Vivo V9's features.

Pre-bookings to debut on March 23

The listing on Amazon India shows that the Vivo V9 expected to be launched in India on March 23 will also be available pre-bookings from 3 PM the same day. The listing highlights that there would be special offers for the buyers pre-booking the Vivo V9 in India.

Camera features teased

The page also teases the key camera highlights of the Vivo V9. As per the listing, the Vivo V9 comes with a tagline "Perfect Shot, Perfect View". The smartphone is seen to feature dual rear cameras with LED flash. Also, the selfie camera is touted to be accompanied with AI features. One of the earlier leaks have confirmed that the Vivo V9 might arrive with AI features such as gender detection, AI face beauty, and AR Stickers to enhance the selfie shots.

Display notch seen clearly

One of the teasers spotted on Amazon India shows that the Vivo V9 will have thin bezels at the sides. Also, there is a notch like the one on iPhone X. The device is rumored to feature a 6.3-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels.

Rumored specs

The device could be launched with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC, which has a dedicated AI chip just like the one on the Vivo X21. But there are reports tipping at the use of a Snapdragon 625 SoC. The smartphone is expected to feature 4GB RAM and 64GB storage space, which can be expanded further using a microSD card. The Vivo V9 might flaunt a vertical dual camera setup at its rear with 16MP and 5MP sensors. The selfie camera is likely to be a 24MP sensor along with f/2.0 aperture. A 3260mAh battery is said power the Vivo V9. The device is said to run Android 8.0 Oreo topped with Vivo's FunTouch OS 4.0.

Expected pricing

If we have to believe the previous reports, the Vivo V9 could be priced under Rs. 25,000 in India. The smartphone was spotted listed in Indonesia for a pricing of IDR 4,999,000 (approx. Rs. 23,700). Given that the Vivo V9 will be a successor to the Vivo V7 launched in the last year, the sub-Rs. 25,000 price tag makes sense.
