Vivo X100 Ultra’s Camera Details Leaked, and It’s Looking Like a Photography Powerhouse
Vivo's highly anticipated X100 Ultra is set to make its official debut on Monday, May 13, and it's generating significant buzz, especially with promises of a "professional camera that can also make calls". While this claim may sound ambitious, leaked details about its camera system suggest that this device could indeed redefine smartphone photography.
Camera Setup The Vivo X100 Ultra boasts a formidable camera setup, including a 50MP Sony Lytia LYT-900 1-inch main sensor, a 50MP Sony Lytia LYT-600 ultrawide lens, and a 200MP periscope zoom camera equipped with a Samsung ISOCELL HP9 sensor co-developed with vivo. This periscope zoom camera utilizes fluorite glass, the industry's strongest low-dispersion material, to enhance image quality significantly.

The collaboration between Vivo and Samsung has resulted in the development of the HP9 sensor, the largest sensor ever used in a periscope telephoto camera. This sensor boasts up to 200MP resolution and improves light sensitivity by 12% compared to its predecessors, thanks to Vivo's second-generation VCS technology. Additionally, the X100 Ultra's telephoto lens is certified by Zeiss APO, ensuring professional-grade image stabilization and unprecedented performance in mobile photography.
Top-of-the-Line Specifications Beyond its camera capabilities, the X100 Ultra is a powerhouse device featuring Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, a Samsung-made AMOLED screen with "2K" resolution, and a robust 5,500mAh battery supporting 80W wired and 30W wireless charging.
Future Collaborations with Zeiss In addition, Vivo has revealed plans to strengthen its collaboration with Zeiss by signing a new agreement for joint research and development expansion. This agreement signifies a commitment from both parties to delve deeper into mobile optics innovation and the development of advanced imaging solutions. Vivo will unveil its proprietary imaging technology, BlueImage, in the upcoming X series products, which are being jointly developed by Vivo and Zeiss, showcasing their combined expertise in the field.
Pricing and Availability The X100 Ultra is expected to launch in India with a starting price of CNY 6,699 (approximately Rs 77,423) for the base model with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The top-tier variant, offering 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, is priced at CNY 8,499 (approximately Rs 98,226). While an international release is anticipated, the timing may vary.
