Xiaomi is one of the major investors in a newly established smartphone manufacturing firm Black Shark technologies. We have been coming across reports that the two companies will jointly launch a Blackshark gaming smartphone, which will make use of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC. Now, we have a sort of an official confirmation from the company regarding the launch date of this smartphone.
According to an official poster, which has surfaced online, the Xiaomi Blackshark gaming smartphone could be launched on April 13. The poster invites Zhu Shangzu, a partner of the investment department of Xiaomi to the Blackshark event. This clearly indicates that Xiaomi is funding the new company. The invitation further points out that the gaming smartphone's launch event will happen on April 13 in China at 3 PM.
In a different piece of news, a Weibo user had shared two photos of the alleged Xiaomi Blackshark smartphone. One of these photos show the sides of the smartphone with the controls and protrusions. The other photo shows the gaming controls of the smartphone at the front, especially at the top and bottom of the screen. Both the photos show the green design accents of Blackshark smartphone.
Lately, the Xiaomi Blackshark gaming smartphone's AnTuTu benchmark listing surfaced online revealing the key specifications. Even a Geekbench benchmark listing of the smartphone hit web. According to these listings, the smartphone is said to arrive with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC as the flagship smartphones of this year paired with 8GB RAM.
The Blackshark smartphone is likely to be unveiled in three variants - one with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage space, the other with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage space and a third variant with a whopping 8GB RAM and 256GB storage space. Running Android 8.0 Oreo, the Xiaomi smartphone would support Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology.
Being a direct rival to the Razer Phone, this Xiaomi gaming smartphone is likely to feature a similar refresh rate of 120Hz. It is believed to feature a 'full-screen' display with a screen resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The benchmark databases have revealed that the device could carry the model number SRK-A0.
Though we have come across several reports revealing what we can expect from Xiaomi Blackshark, we are yet to get an official confirmation from the company regarding the same.
