Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro to Debut as First Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 Smartphone on March 21: Leica Cameras Confirmed

Qualcomm recently unveiled a new chipset in its 8 series, aimed at the 2024 flagship killer segment. According to rumors, the first smartphones with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset will arrive later this month.

And now, the first smartphone to incorporate the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC has been revealed. The Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro will indeed be the first smartphone to use Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 8 series chipset. To recall, the Xiaomi 14 series was the first to incorporate the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.

Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro Launch Date

The Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro launch date is set for March 21 at 02:00 pm PST or 11:30 am IST. Moreover, the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro is already up for pre-order on JD.com and customers can get a free Xiaomi 5,000 mAh lipstick power bank when pre-ordering the device.

As of now, details about the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro's availability outside China is still under wraps as the Chinese smartphone maker tends to limit its Civi series to Chinese markets. However, the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro could be rebranded and launched outside China at a later date.

First Smartphone with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC

The Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro will be the first smartphone to use the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, which is manufactured on TSMC's 4nm process. Featuring an octa-core setup with a Prime core (Cortex-X4) clocked at 3.0GHz, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset is designed for high performance.

It also includes four performance cores running at 2.8GHz and three efficiency cores at 2.0GHz. The Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 boasts hardware capabilities similar to Qualcomm's leading processor, including support for advanced generative AI models with up to 10 billion parameters.

The Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro's design has already been confirmed with a two-tone finish and circular camera module. The phone is shown in blue, green, and pink shades. Moreover, the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro's triple-camera setup will also leverage the brand's partnership with Leica.

Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro Specifications (Expected)

The Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro is expected to use an FHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and high-frequency PWM dimming. Moreover, the handset could also pack a 4,500 mAh lithium cobalt oxide battery with 67W fast charging support.
