Xiaomi Could Add New Features To MIUI 11 Camera App
Xiaomi unveiled MIUI 11 back in September this year. Within a few months, several smartphones have received the updated custom skin. This latest iteration of MIUI brings several features such as an updated Always-On display, a redesigned UI, a new font, and more for users.
Now that the stable version of MIUI 11 is already available for both Mi and Redmi users, the company seems to be all set to add more new features. MIUI 11 is likely to get new features in the MIUI Camera app. These features that are said to be under development are detailed by XDA Developers.
Video Tagging In MIUI Camera App
A recent MIUI nightly seems to have hinted strings of code for a feature called Video Tagging. It is said to let you set a bookmark while shooting a video. When it comes to playing the recorded video within the Gallery app, you can get the option to skip it directly to the bookmark. The new feature might come handy while recording interviews and lectures as it will let you tag particular parts of the recording and edit the same later easily.
Document And ID Card Scanning Feature
The report seems to have spotted another feature in the MIUI Camera app. Well, it is the ability to scan documents and ID cards. There will be a document mode, which will let you save images in monochrome or strengthen them to make the text more legible. It will also come with an ID Copy Mode, which has been spotted to scan ID cards. It might also come with support for double-sided shooting to create a 1:1 copy of an A4-sized ID card.
HEIC Support Hinted
Furthermore, the MIUI Camera app might also support HEIF/HEIC image formats. These high-efficiency file formats have been designed to reduce the image size drastically as compared to IPG or PNG formats sans listing many details. This way, you can store more images in the same amount of space.
What We Think
As of now, there is no confirmation on these features expected to be rolled out to MIUI 11 Camera app. But we can expect them to be under testing. Maybe, a probable rollout can be expected in an upcoming beta release of the app.
