Xiaomi Mi 5X India launch pegged for September 5, invites are out
Xiaomi Mi 5X is coming to India next week.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Xiaomi is gearing up to launch the Mi 5X smartphone in India in September. Now, there seems to be a concrete evidence regarding when we can expect the launch to happen.
Going by a recent tweet by Xiaomi, the company appears to be all set to launch the Mi 5X in India on September 5. The tweet does not reveal that they are going to launch the Mi 5X but it does mention that the product will arrive with a flagship dual camera. Besides the tweet, the company has also sent out media invites for the launch of a new smartphone in India on September 5. Also, the image that they have posted appears to tease the dual camera setup on the smartphone.
Even in the previous teaser, the company did not mention the name of the device that will hit the Indian market in September but the presence of dual rear cameras was tipped. Talking about the camera setup, even the company's flagship Mi 6 features such an arrangement but we cannot expect this one to be released in India as the company had already revealed that the smartphone might not reach the country.
To refresh on the specs of the Xiaomi Mi 5X, the smartphone that was unveiled in July comes with a 5.5-inch FHD 1080p 2.5D curved glass LTPS display. At its heart, there operates a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB default memory capacity that can be expanded further up to 128GB using a microSD card. The smartphone features a rear-facing fingerprint sensor.
Running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat, this smartphone can be upgraded to MIUI 9. The connectivity features on board include 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi, GPS, USB Type-C port and hybrid dual SIM slot. The smartphone flaunts a dual camera setup as in the Mi 6 with a 12MP primary sensor with a wide-angle lens and f/2.2 aperture, and a 12MP secondary sensor with a telephone lens and f/2.6 aperture. There is a 5MP selfie camera as well on board. A 3000mAh battery powers the Xiaomi Mi 5X from within.
