While Xiaomi is yet to confirm when the Mi 7 would be announced, there are speculations that the same might happen on May 23. Though the date is not official, there are many leaks making rounds on the internet of late. The latest leak has come in the form of a set of leaked TPU cases of the smartphone revealed by GizmoChina. While the case is nothing spectacular, it reveals some details of the upcoming Xiaomi flagship.
The first feature, which comes to our notice is the presence of a 3.5mm audio jack. The cutout for the audio jack is seen at the bottom of the device next to the USB Type-C port. On the other side of the USB port, there are speaker grilles. When it comes to the top edge, we can see an opening for the IR blaster.
Another image of the case shows the opening for a dual-camera setup at the top left corner of the rear panel. The two lenses will be stacked vertically in this arrangement. This design is something that we have seen on the Mi Mix 2S itself. The power and volume controls seem to be positioned at the right.
Recently, the tempered glass protective panel of the Xiaomi Mi 7 hit the web confirming the notch design. When it comes to the innards, there appear to be a Snapdragon 845 SoC under its hood. This processor is likely to be teamed up with 6GB of RAM. There are speculations that this smartphone might arrive in an 8GB RAM variant too. It is also said to have two different storage configurations - 64GB and 128GB.
The other aspects of the Mi 7 include 3350mAh battery and Qi wireless charging support. While there is no word regarding the other specifications, we have already come up with a rumor roundup of this upcoming Xiaomi smartphone.
In the meantime, a recent leak shows the video render of the Mi 7. The render comes from TechConfigurations and shows the design of the device clearly. The video shows the presence of a notched OLED display. The notch is seen to house a 20MP selfie camera, a sensor and a speaker. The video also reveals the presence of a 3D face recognition feature. It has also been revealed that the notch can be hidden during video playback.
The render video shows a reflective back panel with the Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The rear is said to have 12MP and 20MP cameras with PDAF, OIS and dual-tone flash. The concept video shows the smartphone in blue, black, and white gold color variants.
