Xiaomi is expected to be one of the first OEMs to unveil a smartphone with the Snapdragon 845 SoC. The flagship Mi 7 and Mi Mix 2s smartphones are believed to be launched with the latest Qualcomm chipset. While the Mi Mix 2s is likely to be unveiled at the MWC 2018 tech show, the Mi 7 is said to be postponed to April this year.
It makes sense for the Mi 7 to equip the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC as its predecessor - the Mi 6 that was launched in the last year came up with the Snapdragon 835 SoC that was the flagship chipset back then. Besides the powerful processor, the smartphone is expected to feature high-end specs and a premium design too.
Science and Knowledge, a popular YouTube channel known for creating concept renders of upcoming smartphones based on rumors and speculations as come up with an alluring Mi 7 concept video showing the premium look of the device. However, we should mention that this is based on rumors and leaks and nothing is official for now. So, the final design might differ from what is shown here.
The Mi 7 concepts hint at the presence of an all-glass body just like what we saw on the Mi 6. There appears to be a larger 5.5-inch IPS LCD display. The panel is said to be a FullView display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and a QHD+ resolution of 2880 x 1440 pixels.
In-display fingerprint sensor likely
The concept creator has imagined the Xiaomi flagship smartphone to arrive with an in-display fingerprint sensor instead of a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. This technology was already seen in the Vivo X20 Plus UD that was showcased at the CES 2018 tech show.
First 8GB RAM device from Xiaomi
Xiaomi Mi 7 is believed to be unveiled in two variants - one with 6GB RAM and the other with 8GB RAM. If this information turns out to be true, this will be the first Xiaomi smartphone to feature 8GB RAM while the other companies like OnePlus have already implemented the same on the yesteryear flagship models.
Dual cameras at the rear
The Mi 6 came with dual rear cameras so it would not be surprising to see such a camera setup on its successor as well. The Mi 7 is believed to arrive with vertically stacked dual cameras at its rear and a flash positioned between the cameras. Up front, it is said to have a 13MP selfie camera.
