We know that Xiaomi Mi 6X is to be unveiled on April 25 in China. Just like its predecessor, this device is said to be launched as the Mi A2 in the global markets including India. Last year, the Mi 5X, which went official in July in China came to India with Android One as the Mi A1. And, the device was pretty popular in the mid-range market segment with its pricing of Rs. 14,999.
Given that the Mi 6X's announcement is just a few days from now, it looks like the Mi A1 has been discontinued. According to a report by 91mobiles, the handset has been discontinued by the company but the reason for the same is yet to be disclosed. The report cites the information from preferred Xiaomi partners in Delhi.
Xiaomi Mi A1 discontinued
It states that it has got to know that the last billing for the device has been done two months back by the company and the supplies for the smartphone were halted after that. And, they appear to have got the same information from the Xiaomi partners outside Delhi as well. The report further states that they have got the same confirmed from Xiaomi itself.
If there is any stock leftover with the retailers, then you can get hold of the same. Even the Xiaomi website has listed the device, but it is not available for sale and there is a 'Notify Me' option.
Mi A2 India release
Another report by 91mobiles hints that the Mi A2 will be released in India in May. The Mi 6X will be unveiled on April 25 and will reach the Indian market in the next month. However, the report adds that their source has not revealed the exact specifications of the Mi A2 smartphone. We can expect both the smartphones to have similar specifications. The leaked firmware files have revealed the major specifications of the Mi 6X.
Having said that the Mi A2 will land in India in May, we are yet to know how this smartphone will perform this year. We know that the smartphone will be priced in the affordable market segment and there is always a demand for the Xiaomi devices among consumers.
