Besides, the company has decided to launch the new smartphone in India this time mainly because it has gained a lot of popularity among the consumers and also, India has become the second-largest market for the Chinese manufacturer. Thus, the company is aiming to launch the smartphone as it sees a great demand for Xiaomi smartphones.
It's been some time since Xiaomi launched one of its high-end flagships in India, but it seems the company is changing its strategy now. We might see more high-end flagships land in the country more often. Besides, the company has been dedicating more resources to the country.
Xiaomi has been launching several of its ecosystem products in India as well. Moreover, the company has also been getting into the offline segment where the Mi Home stores will seemingly become a focal point of that vision. In any case, the company has been broadening the selection of products for the consumers. And after talking about the company's changing strategy, the main point here is that customers in India will be able to get their hands on Mi Mix 2 very soon.
Just to recall, the Mi Mix 2 comes with a 5.99-inch 2160 x 1080 FHD+ display. The handset is powered by a Snapdragon 835 SoC which is paired with 6GB of RAM. The device comes in three storage variations of 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB. In terms of cameras, there is a 12MP camera at the back, 5MP front shooter. The smartphone is backed by a 3400mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0. It comes with MIUI 9 atop Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
Talking about the pricing, the Indian version is expected to carry the same price that the device is retailing at in China. The Mi Mix 2 is priced at RMB 3299 (approximately Rs. 32,390) for the 6GB RAM and 64GB storage variant, RMB 3599 (approximately Rs. 35,387) for the 6GB RAM and 128 GB storage variant and finally RMB 3999 (approximately Rs. 39,210) for the 6GB RAM and 256GB storage variants.
There is also a special ceramic unibody edition and this one is retailing at RMB 4699 (approximately Rs. 46,000). It will be interesting see which variants will make it to the country.
