Xiaomi is all set to unveil the Mi Mix 2, the second generation bezel-less smartphone on September 11. The smartphone is expected to feature a high screen-to-body ratio of 93% and almost no bezels at the sides.
Today, a render of the Mi Mix 2 placed beside the original Mi Mix that was launched last year has been spotted online. The render has come from the Twitter-based leakster Benjamin Geskin known for posting the possible looks of the upcoming smartphones. There are a few points to be noted regarding these renders of the Xiaomi smartphones.
The first one is that the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 seems to be too small in comparison to that of the Mi Mix. Of course, it could be due to the reduced display size and the thin bottom bezel on the second generation model that is all set to be launched in a few more days.
From the render, it looks like the second generation Xiaomi Mi Mix will arrive with a 6.2-inch display at the front while the yesteryear model features a larger 6.4-inch display. Also, the full-screen display expected to be featured by the Mi Mix 2 will have an aspect ratio of 18:9 as seen on a few other devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S8 and LG G6.
Leaving the display aspects aside, the previous reports tip that the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 will equip an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC under its hood. It is believed that the device will be launched in two variants with 6GB/8GB RAM and 128GB/256GB storage space as well. The device is likely to make use of a capacious 4900mAh battery under its hood.
Though we have an idea of the key specifications of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 via the speculations and leaks, the exact details remain to be unknown for now. We can get a clear picture of the device and its details on September 11 as the Mi Mix 2 will be announced officially.
