Initially, Xiaomi was speculated to unveil its flagship Mi 7 smartphone at the MWC 2018 tech show as the company is taking part at the upcoming show in Barcelona. But there are claims that the company might not unveil the Mi 7 now and that it will come up with a new device called Mi Mix 2s at the tech show. However, there is no official confirmation regarding the company's plans for the MWC 2018 as of yet.
The recent speculations pointed out that the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s might be unveiled at the MWC 2018 and that it will arrive with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC. Having said that, this one from Xiaomi could be one of the first smartphones to arrive with the Snapdragon 845 chipset meant for the flagship smartphones of this year.
The latest information is that the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s has appeared on the AnTuTu benchmark database revealing its codename, performance score and a few other details.
AnTuTu benchmark details
The leaked AnTuTu benchmark listing revealed by a Twitter user Ice Universe via GSMArena of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s appears to show that the smartphone will be codenamed Polaris. It also shows that the smartphone has managed to score 270461 points. As this smartphone is likely powered by the new chipset - Snapdragon 845, we cannot compare it with the older ones. Also, we cannot take this as a confirmation as the benchmark results can be easily spoofed.
Mi Mix 2s with Snapdragon 845 SoC
This is not the first time that we are coming across speculations regarding the Mi Mix 2s. Last month, the information from China tipped that Xiaomi is in plans to unveil the Mi Mix 2s at the MWC 2018 tech show. The word is that this device will arrive with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC and upgraded cameras.
Focus on AI
Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 focuses on AI (Artificial Intelligence) and camera performance. The new chipset is touted to offer 30% better overall performance. The AI processing is said to be improved by a whopping 300%. It is also believed that the battery output will be improved with this chipset.
Enhanced camera capabilities
From the existing reports, it looks like the alleged Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s will feature the new Sony IMX363 sensor. The device is said to render faster dual-pixel auto-focusing and improved better night-time shooting as the sensor will have larger individual pixels. This makes sense as the rumor mills claim that there will be upgraded cameras in the Mi Mix 2s.
iPhone X like notch
