Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 might be priced under Rs. 7,000

Xiaomi is likely to launch the much awaited Redmi Note 5. Though there were contradictory reports tipping that the Redmi Note 5 will not see the light of the day and that the company has launched the Redmi 5 Plus instead, it looks like the smartphone exists and that it will be launched sometime soon. An official confirmation from the company is yet to be let out regarding the same.

Earlier today we came across a leaked render of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 with a slightly different rear design as compared to the previously leaked renders. Following this, it looks like the alleged pricing of the device has been leaked online.

According to a report by GizmoChina, Xiaomi is hosting a contest on the China MIUI forum and has listed the Redmi Note 5 as one of the prizes for the winners of the contest. In addition to the name of the device, even its pricing has been listed on the forum. According to the same, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 will be priced at 699 yuan (approx. Rs. 6,800).

Given that the pricing information of the Redmi Note 5 is available online that too on the official forum of the company's interface, we can expect the launch of the smartphone to happen soon. Starting from 699 yuan (approx. Rs. 6,800), the Redmi Note 5 price could go up based on the storage variant.

Though the report reveals the pricing of the upcoming smartphone, it also leaves us with a contradictory claim that it could be the Redmi Note 5A that also carries the same price tag.

Talking about the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, the latest render tips that the smartphone might arrive with the full-screen design with a bezel-less display. The bezels around the screen are thinner than what we have seen on the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus. There appears to be a dual camera setup at the rear with the two sensors positioned vertically and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor as well.

The Redmi Note 5 is likely to make use of the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 SoC paired with 4GB RAM. It is expected to bestow a 5.99-inch FHD+ display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and 18:9 aspect ratio.
