Though there is no confirmation from Xiaomi, the recent speculations hint that the flagship Mi 7 smartphone will be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 tech show to happen late next month. It is also believed that the device will be up for purchase in March. But it looks like the company will unleash the highly-anticipated Redmi Note 5 ahead of the Mi 7 but the exact launch date remains unknown.

Earlier today, we saw two devices with the model numbers MEE7S and MET7S receiving the 3C certification in China. These devices are said to be two variants of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5. Given that the device has received the 3C approval in China, it is likely that it might be unveiled anytime soon.

Now, a report by MyDrives via GizmoChina has revealed the complete specifications pricing of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5. Going by the same, the upcoming budget smartphone might boast of an integrated metallic chassis with a nano-injection molding antenna design. It is likely to bestow a 5.99-inch FHD+ display that will result in a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor (as seen in many Xiaomi phones sans the full-screen design) and 18:9 aspect ratio.

On the imaging front, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is believed to be the first smartphone in the lineup to arrive with a dual camera setup comprising of a 16MP primary sensor and a 5MP secondary sensor. The selfie camera is likely to be an 8MP sensor. The device is believed to be launched with MIUI 9 based on Android Nougat out-of-the-box and arrive with the facial recognition feature too.

When it comes to the variants and pricing, the Redmi Note 5 is expected to be launched in two variants. The base variant is said to feature a Snapdragon 630 SoC paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of default memory capacity. This one is said to be priced 1499 yuan (approx. Rs. 15,000). The high-end variant of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is said to make use of a Snapdragon 636 SoC coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB default storage. This one is likely to be priced at 1799 yuan (approx. Rs. 18,000).
