Realme 5: Design

The Realme 5 is the latest and one of the first smartphones from the company with a quad-camera setup. This is also the most affordable smartphone in the country with a quad-camera setup. At the front, the device has a 6.5-inch HD+ resolution screen protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. The back panel of the Realme 5 is made using glossy plastic with a diamond pattern. The finish is given in such a way that it mimics glass and looks premium.

Realme 5: Hardware Performance

The Realme 5 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC, which is an octa-core processor with Adreno 610 GPU. This processor is based on 11nm fabrication, which makes it energy efficient. This is a good smartphone for casual gaming, as it can play games like PUBG at medium settings without any frame drops. Besides, the mobile can also handle usual day-to-day tasks without any issue.

Realme 5: Camera Performance

The Realme 5 has a quad-camera setup at the back with a 12MP primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens with an f/2.2 aperture, 2MP 4CM macro lens and a 2MP depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. At the front, the phone comes with a 13MP selfie camera. When it comes to real-life performance, the primary camera can take some good looking shots under normal lighting conditions. The 13MP front-facing selfie camera can also take some great shots and also supports Face Unlock.

Realme 5: Price To Specs Ratio

The base variant of the Realme 5 retails for Rs. 9,999 in India. The smartphone offers 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage with a dedicated microSD card slot for additional storage expansion. For the asking price, the device does offer a great set of features which are not usually seen at this price range. Besides, the phone also has a massive 5000 mAh battery with support for 10W fast charging. However, the phone still uses a micro USB port, which makes the device a bit dated.

Realme 5: Important Features/Specs

The Realme 5 comes with a dual SIM card slot with a dedicated microSD card slot, where users can install two SIM cards and a microSD card at the same time. Similarly, the smartphone is based on Android 9 Pie OS with custom ColorOS 6.0 skin on top with features like app drawer and more. The smartphone looks premium and at the front, it has a water-drop notch with a higher screen to body ratio. The Realme 5 is definitely one of the best-looking smartphones under Rs. 10,000 price tag.

How do we rate a Device?

Rating a smartphone is a tedious process and a lot of parameters have to be considered before judging the overall performance of the device such as display, camera, processor, RAM, storage, battery, and the pricing.

So, here are how these specs will affect the real-life usage of a device and why how we meticulously consider each of these points to rate a smartphone.

Cameras have evolved a lot over the last few years and multi-camera setup is a new norm. We consider various parameters like MP count, aperture size, pixel size, image stabilization to rate a camera system of a smartphone out of 5. Any device that scores more than 3.5 can take good photos and videos and if a phone scores over 4, then it will be one of the best camera smartphones in the market.

Though battery seems like an underrated feature and we look at the battery capacity, fast charging supporting technology, and even the wireless charging capability is also taken into consideration to rate smartphone's battery capability.

The display is the face of a smartphone. And there are a lot of parameters like the panel technology (IPS LCD, OLED, TFT) and other parameters also taken into consideration like the resolution, pixel density, and refresh rate.

Value for Money

A smartphone could have great specs, but if it is not priced well then you might not get the best value-for-money. So, we compare a smartphone with the contemporaries to rate the value-for-money of a device out of 5.

This aspect is decided on various sub specifics, such as availability of microSD card slot, the amount of RAM the device offers, processor capability, and the network support. This parameter has more weightage when compared to other departments.
