Elon Musk Proves Cybertruck Windows Are Actually Shatterproof
Elon Musk -- CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, recently unveiled Tesla’s first-ever electric pickup truck – the Cybertruck. It comes with an unorthodox design with no mirrors and no screen wipers that we have not seen on any of the mass production cars or trucks.
At the time of launch, the company had a live-demonstration to showcase the strength of the glass used on the Cybertruck by throwing a metallic ball into the side window panel. Unfortunately, the window shattered into pieces. Similarly, the ball is thrown at another Window to disprove the same and the result was same, again with a cracked window.
This is a PR nightmare, especially for a product that has been claimed as a future of trucks that claims to have a shatterproof glass. With a starting price of $39,999, the Tesla Cybertruck is not that expensive compared to a similarly powered truck with an internal combustion engine that runs on gas.

The entire presentation of the electric truck was done with the Tesla Cybertruck in the background with shattered windows, which has led to a lot of criticism. Now, the CEO of the company has shared a new video on Twitter with a similar demonstration done right before the launch event, where the glass was intact even after throwing a metallic ball.
According to the video, the ball bounces back after hitting the window without making any permanent damage. Even the glass absorbs the force by acting as a flexible plastic material.
What Might Have Caused This Issue?
It looks like the same test was done several times before the actual presentation and the glass might have lost its strength in the process. If this is true, then, the company has to go back to the drawing board to resolve the issue.
The tweet also confirms that the company will make some improvements to the glass before it goes for mass production.
