Sony Xperia U available for Rs 16,499 online


Sony recently launched the Xperia S in India in April. It also unveiled the mid range smartphone, Xperia U. Now, the latter is available online through the online retailers such as Letsbuy and Flipkart. These retailers are selling the smartphone for a price in India of Rs 17,399 and Rs 16,499 respectively.

Sony has claimed that it will announce the availability of the Xperia U smartphone officially later this month. The handset was unveiled during the Mobile World Congress 2012 that was held in late February. The company announced that it will launch the Android smartphone in India in April.

The features of the Xperia U smartphone are as follows.

  • 854 x 480 pixel resolution

  • Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system

  • Upgradable to Android 4.0 ICS

  • 512 MB Built-In RAM

  • Dual core 1 GHz STE U8500 processor

  • 5 MP camera with 16x digital zoom, LED flash, auto focus

  • VGA front facing camera

  • Support to Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot, DLNA and Bluetooth 2.1

  • 6 hrs 36 minutes talk time, 472 hours standby time

    The exact availability and price of the smartphone is still not announced by Sony. We can expect it to be slightly higher than the price listed by the online retailers.
