Elon Musk Turns Perfume Seller To Gather Cash For Twitter Buyout
Elon Musk, the man behind Tesla and SpaceX, has set Twitter on fire again with a new statement. His new tweet reads "Please buy my perfume, so I can buy Twitter". For the unversed, Elon Musk signed a deal in April 2022 to acquire the social networking website Twitter. In October 2022, Twitter confirmed that it had received confirmation from Elon Musk and that he is willing to shell out the agreed amount of $44 billion. Now, Musk intends to gather some cash by selling perfume online.
Why Is Elon Musk Selling Perfume?
Musk initially acquired a 9.2 percent stake in Twitter. But due to certain disagreements and a view of implementing "Free Speech" on the social networking website, Musk decided to buy Twitter wholly. A deal was struck between both parties and an amount of $54.20 per share in cash was finalized in April 2022.
However, in July 2022, Musk pulled out of the deal citing that Twitter failed to provide enough information on spam bots and fake accounts on its platform. This led to a legal tussle between the two that continued for a couple of months. Now, Musk has again expressed his interest to close the deal for the agreed price of $ 54.20 per share. The US court has allowed Elon Musk to gather funding and complete the deal by delaying the trial.
Hence, Elon Musk in a tongue-in-cheek manner pleaded his Twitter followers to purchase his "Burnt Hair" perfume, which would help him in gathering the cash required for the deal. He even changed his Twitter bio to "Perfume Salesman". Musk asserts that he just had to get into the perfume industry with a name like his.
How Many Bottles Of Perfume Will Musk Have To Sell To Afford Twitter?

Musk's new perfume is called Burnt Hair and will be sold via his venture, The Boring Company. It is touted to be an omnigender perfume that smells like "The Essence of Repugnant Desire". Musk adds that it is the finest perfume in the market and will help you to stand out in the crowd.
The perfume bottle comes in a red shade with a diamond-shaped stopper. It gets the Burnt Hair branding and a text below that reads "Singed"'. The perfume is listed for $100 (approx. ₹8,250) and can be purchased now via The Boring Company website. You can also purchase the perfume using cryptocurrency. Musk tweeted that the company is accepting Doge coins too.
If Musk is to be believed, The Boring Company has sold over 10,000 bottles of Burnt Hair till now. Mathematically, he would require to sell at least 440 million bottles to buy Twitter.
