Meta Announces Twitter-Like Subscription Model for Verification

Earlier this month, the Twitter Blue subscription service finally launched in India. The premium service offers perks such as the much-coveted blue verification checkmark, the option to edit tweets, and more. Now, Meta appears to be taking a leaf from Twitter's book with its new "Meta Verified" model for Instagram and Facebook. Meta's subscription service promises members a blue verified badge, improved protection, and better reach.
Meta Verified: More than a Blue Checkmark
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that the new Meta Verified subscription service would not only provide users a blue verified checkmark, but would also offer members direct access to customer support and protection from impersonation. They would also be able to enjoy better reach.
In addition, subscribers will get exclusive stickers for Stories and Reels. They will also get 100 free stars every month. For the unversed, a star is a form of digital currency which allows Facebook creators to monetize their content.
The company states that, it aims to create a subscription service that's "valuable to everyone, including creators, businesses, and our community at large." Meta adds, "As part of this vision, we are evolving the meaning of the verified badge so we can expand access to verification and more people can trust the accounts they interact with are authentic.
When Will Meta Verified Launch in India?
