How to Increase Reliance Jio Speed by Changing the LTE Band
Undoubtedly, Reliance Jio is the best mobile network that exists right now and it is evident from our speed test comparing Reliance Jio, Vodafone 4G and Airtel 4G.

The company is throttling the speed by locking the LTE network in the Preview Offer to the LTE Band 3 and this band will provide only low speed. If you are facing slow connection speed on your Jio network, you can increase the speed drastically by following a few steps given here.

LTE Band – What is it?
LTE networks work on different frequency bands. Band 17 is 700 MHz frequency, Band 20 is 800 MHz frequency, Band 5 is 850 MHz and Band 3 is 1,800 MHz. The Band 40 is the 2300 MHz frequency band. Each operator providing 4G service in India will support some bands. While Airtel supports Band 40, Vodafone supports Band 3. However, Reliance Jio supports Band 3, 5 and 40.
Band 40 offers better speed
The Band 40 offers better speed while the Bands 3 and 5 provides better coverage. This implementation of Reliance Jio is only till the commercial launch of the service.
Switching to Band 40 will increase the speed
The Band 40 will give up to 50 Mbps of download speed based on the network quality and signal strength. Eventually, switching to Band 40 will give a better speed to your connection.
Steps to switch LTE Band for Qualcomm device users
In case your phone uses a Qualcomm chipset, you need to download the Shortcut Master (Lite) app from the Play Store. Then, open the menu in the app and choose "Secret Code Explorer". It will take some time to get the secret codes that your phone will support. From the list of codes, you need to choose for which you should know the band selection secret code for the phone model you are using and press Launch 0. Select Band Selection from the Service Mode screen and choose LTE. Then, select the option LTE_40 instead of LTE_3. You need to restart your phone to see the increase in download speed.
MediaTek chipset users should try these steps
Those who use phones with a MediaTek chipset should download the MTK Engineering Mode app from Play Store and choose MTK Settings → BandMode → LTE Mode. Then, you need to select Band 40.
