Reliance Jio has plans to extend its reach way beyond just the smartphone arena. It was recently revealed that Jio will unveil its DTH service on December 15 and is expected to give a tough competition to Airtel broadband and other DTH service providers in India.
Besides that, Reliance Jio is also broadening the VoLTE market introducing the cheapest 4G VoLTE feature phones at Rs. 1,000 by early 2017. Along with these already talked about services that Jio is expected to bring about, here are some new services that Reliance Jio is said to be working upon and will bring it to the users soon.
Jio Android Television Boxes Coming Soon
Reliance Jio Experience Centre recently revealed that the company is planning to launch Nvidia Shield Android TV boxes, and aiming to provide better home entertainment. These TV boxes are expected to include gaming capability and is said to be working on various deals with gaming studios including Electronic Arts to bring premium gaming experience for users.
App For Streaming Videos, Movies At Home
Other than television boxes, Jio will soon come up with an app that will allow users to stream videos, movies, photo slides or even songs on all your devices at home. Reliance Jio is also working on various WiFi extenders to boost network signal inside homes.
Jio To Make Driving Experience Better
Reliance Jio is also planning to hit the auto sector with its Jio drive experience app. The company, via a common car connector and an embedded Jio SIM, will allow a driver to keep track of their vehicle's vital stats. With this app, you can control on the areas the car can go, and put a fence, and if it goes beyond the area, you'll be alerted.
Jio Newspaper and Magazines on its Way
Apart from the DTH, cars and mobiles, Jio has plans to introduce their own Newspaper and Magazine to get into the daily reading habit of its users. The company is said to have partnered with several publication houses to implement this initiative soon.
Jio To Hit Health and Education Space
Reliance Jio plans to hit the education and health sector, and will soon launch apps like JioHealth to store medical reports and JioEducation for education content in rural areas. Additionally, the company will also release JioData Transfer facility to help users send and receive data between an old and a new phone.
