Airtel and Vi Enhance Connectivity for Ayodhya's Ram Mandir Inauguration

As Ayodhya prepares for the consecration of the Ram Mandir today, on January 22, 2024, both Vi and Airtel have taken significant steps to fortify their network infrastructures to meet the demands of over 7,000 dignitaries and pilgrims expected to attend.

Vi's Connectivity Enhancements

In collaboration with the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), the government, and local authorities, Vi has strengthened its network infrastructure. The telecom operator upgraded existing sites across Ayodhya, covering major areas with a focus on key landmarks.

Spectrum Bands

Vi has taken steps to improve connectivity in key areas, including Ayodhya Railway Station, Ram Mandir Campus, the Airport, and connecting highways to Lucknow and Varanasi. These efforts include adding new sites, upgrading/refarming L2100 spectrum capacity, and ensuring that Vi users have a seamless experience with high-speed data transfer, clear voice calls, and smooth video streaming.

Swift Approvals and Execution

The Department of Telecommunications and other relevant departments fast-tracked the approval process, allowing for the rapid deployment of towers. Vi's enhancements include improved network coverage, increased capacity, and enhanced backhaul connectivity across all spectrum bands.

Airtel's Network Infrastructure Upgrades

Airtel has strategically enhanced its network infrastructure to cover crucial locations in Ayodhya, such as the airport, railway station, bus stands, landmarks, hotels, and other significant venues.

Comprehensive Connectivity

To guarantee complete connectivity, Airtel deployed additional network sites, Cells on Wheels (CoWs), and optic fiber cables throughout Ayodhya. Special attention was paid to key sites such as the main temple area, locker room, and Rajawar Park, ensuring high-speed data connectivity for visitors.

Augmented Workforce

In anticipation of a surge in users during the event, Airtel increased its workforce by deploying additional network engineers. The coordinated efforts are intended to guarantee uninterrupted voice and data services throughout Ayodhya, ensuring a seamless and reliable communication experience for both residents and visitors.
