Airtel Unveils Affordable Rs 279 Prepaid Plan with 45 Days Validity and Extra Perks
Airtel has introduced a new prepaid plan aimed at customers seeking an affordable recharge option with extended validity. Priced at Rs 279, this plan offers a daily cost of just Rs 6.2 and provides a validity period of 45 days. This makes it one of the longest validity periods available for SIM-keeping plans in the market.
The new Airtel Rs 279 prepaid plan includes a combination of voice calls, data, and SMS benefits. Customers will receive a total of 2GB of lump-sum data. However, there are no post-data benefits, so users needing additional data will have to purchase affordable data vouchers.

Alongside the data benefits, the plan offers unlimited local, STD, and roaming calls throughout the 45-day validity period. Additionally, users will receive a total of 600 SMS upfront, which can be used as needed during the plan's duration.
Additional Perks
Beyond the core benefits of voice calls, data, and SMS, Airtel's Rs 279 plan also includes several additional perks. Subscribers will get three months of Apollo 24|7 Circle subscription. The plan also bundles HelloTunes and Wynk Music subscriptions.
Market Comparison
This new offering from Airtel comes as telecom operators like Jio and Vodafone Idea compete to provide the best benefits at affordable prices. Jio has been leading this space by offering more benefits at lower costs. However, Airtel's new plan aims to catch up by providing a longer validity period compared to most affordable plans that typically offer 28 or 30 days.
For Airtel customers who do not require extensive data but seek an affordable option to keep their SIM active while enjoying unlimited voice calls, the Rs 279 plan is a viable choice. With its extended validity and additional benefits, it stands out as one of the most cost-effective plans currently available.
