Airtel Announces Revised Mobile Tariffs: Check New Plans

On Friday (June 28), Bharti Airtel raised mobile tariffs by 11 per cent to 21 per cent for all its prepaid and postpaid users, a day after Reliance Jio announced a 12-27 per cent hike.

Airtel says, ''Bharti Airtel has maintained that the mobile Average Revenue per User (ARPU) needs to be upwards of INR 300, to enable a financially healthy business model for Telcos in India. We believe that this level of ARPU will enable the substantial investments required in network technology and spectrum and offer a modest return on capital.''

The new tariffs for all Airtel plans will be available on www.airtel.in starting July 3. Moreover, these prices apply to all circles, including Bharti Hexacom Ltd. Circles. The entry-level plans see only a minor price hike (less than 70p per day) to avoid burdening budget-conscious consumers.
