Airtel Tariff Hike Incoming: Here’s How to Get the Most Out of Current Plans

Bharti Airtel is going to witness a 15-17% tariff hike after the election around July-October. Analysts at Antique Stock Broking said it is planning to increase its ARPU (average revenue per user) to Rs 286 by the end of FY27 which is up from the current Rs 208.

The subscriber base will also reportedly grow at 2% per annum compared to industry growth of 1% per annum. The telco's last hike of about 20% back in 2021, was to increase the revenue to reach the mark of Rs. 200 ARPU.

Antique Stock Broking said in a note (spotted by Moneycontrol) that "Airtel's current ARPU of Rs 208 is set to go up to Rs 286 by the end FY27, driven by a tariff hike contributing Rs 55, upgradation of 2G customers to 4G contributing Rs 10, and customer upgradation to a higher data plan (both 4G and 5G) and moving to postpaid delivering Rs 14''.

So there is a chance other telecom operators might also increase the cost of their plans. Since the new tariff of Airtel will be effective after the election, you have enough time to save some money.
