BSNL the state-owned telecom operator has now announced a new prepaid plan for its users in India. Dubbed as 'Maximum,' prepaid plan, this tariff will cost Rs. 999 and it comes with exciting benefits for a period of one year.
To break down the benefits, BSNL prepaid customers will receive unlimited data access for 365 days and unlimited voice calls (Local and STD) for 181 days on recharging with the amount mentioned above.
According to BSNL, this plan will provide unlimited data capped at 1GB per day. After the completion of 1GB data per day, users will receive data speed of 40 Kbps. The plan offers unlimited free voice calls including roaming calls excluding Mumbai and Delhi. Voice calls in Mumbai and Delhi will be priced at 60 paise per minute. Users will also get 100 free SMS per day.
Notably, the benefits mentioned above are valid for 0 to 181 days. However, there will be few changes after the initial 181 days of recharge. For the next 182 to 365 days, voice calls will be charged at 60 paise per minute for both on-net and off-net (home and roaming) calls and users will also be charged 25 paise per local SMS and 35 paise per national SMS.
The new BSNL prepaid plan is available in all circles except North-East India, Jammu and Kashmir, and Assam.
Meanwhile, this new plan from BSNL will definitely go up against validity plans from Airtel and Reliance Jio. Both, Airtel and Reliance Jio also offer similar prepaid plans for Rs. 999 with similar benefits. The only difference and the benefit of BSNL's plan is that it has a slightly longer validity.
To recall, Airtel is offering unlimited voice calls including national roaming calls, 100 local and STD SMS per day, 60GB of data for 90 days while Reliance Jio is also offering similar benefits of unlimited roaming calls without any limit, 100 SMS per day and 60GB of data for 90 days.
Just a few days back, BSNL also introduced a new 'KOOL' offer for its prepaid customers. Under this offer, BSNL prepaid subscribers will get unlimited voice calls including home and roaming, 100 SMS daily, and access to Personalized Ring Back Tone (PRBT) for 84 days at Rs. 1,099. The 'KOOL' offer is also applicable to all regions across India.
