BSNL partners with Eros Now to offer unlimited video content to subscribers

State-run telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has joined hands with India's premier online video brand Eros Now to offer 11,000+ Movie titles, music videos, original web shows, and exclusive videos to its consumers on the occasion of New Year 2019.

Anupam Shrivastava, Chairman, and Managing Director, BSNL informed that keeping up to the commitment of offering great service at affordable price to BSNL subscribers, BSNL has taken this initiative of offering unlimited free viewing of video content on the Eros Now app. This service will be made available to BSNL subscribers by end of January 2019.

Under this new partnership prepaid subscribers of select STV/plans will be offered Eros Now subscription as a part of the validity of STV/Plan.

Rishika Lulla Singh, CEO, Eros Digital, said, "As trends indicate, the OTT industry in India is expected to reach a size of $5 billion by 2023 with tier II, III and rural areas of India witnessing a sizeable increase in mobile penetration and data consumption. We are well poised to cater to this growing community and our alliance with BSNL is a step towards bridging the urban-rural gap and expanding Eros Now's national reach."

The company has also decided not to have any blackout days starting from New Year Eve (31st December'2018) and for Calendar Year 2019 under GSM mobile services.

The telco said that all consumers of mobile service will continue to get all the benefits of the plan or special tariff vouchers while surfing or talking to their near and dear ones on New Year eve and New Year.

It has also extended No blackout days for the Calendar year 2019 (ie. On 1st January'2019).

To recall, BSNL announced a mega cashback scheme for all its landline and broadband customers. The scheme is available across all circles across the country. Under this scheme 25 percent mega cash-back will be credited to the customer when a customer opts for an annual plan and makes the timely payment.
