BSNL Rs. 997 Long-Term Prepaid Plan Offers 540GB Data
BSNL is hitting the headlines almost every other day. Today, the state-run telco is news as it has launched a new long-term prepaid plan priced at Rs. 997. It offers a combination of benefits and comes with the PRBT (Personalised Ringback Tone) benefit for two months.
Well, this new long-term prepaid plan takes on similarly priced prepaid plans from rivals such as Airtel, Jio and Vodafone Idea. To be specific Airtel has a long-term recharge plan priced at Rs. 998 and Jio and Vodafone Idea have a similar plan priced at Rs. 999. All these prepaid plans offer a validity of minimum of 90 days.
BSNL Rs. 997 Prepaid Plan Benefits
Detailing on bundled benefits, the BSNL Rs. 997 prepaid plan offers free unlimited voice calls irrespective of the network, 3GB data per day after which the speed will drop down to 80 kbps and 100 SMS per day for a validity period of 180 days. Additionally, the long-term prepaid plan will also bundle PRBT but only for two months.
Though there will be unlimited voice calls, the company has a FUP limit to it. The voice calls will be limited to 250 minutes per day, similar to the other unlimited combo plans launched by the company.
The Catch!
On comparing the BSNL Rs. 997 prepaid recharge plan with its rivals as mentioned above, the BSNL plan wins on the data front, but we need to keep in mind that the data speed is not as fast as that offered by its rivals. But there is a catch with this new prepaid plan from the telco.
Well, this plan will be effective from November 10 and is likely available only in Kerala, claims TelecomTalk. On the other hand, the other telcos have similarly priced plans across all their operational circles. For the uninitiated, for BSNL, Kerala is a very important circle as it has over 10 million subscribers in that circle. As of now, it remains to be seen if the Rs. 997 prepaid plan will be rolled out to other circles as well.
