Jio Rs. 149 Prepaid Plan Revised To Provide 300 Minutes Of Non-Jio Calling
Reliance Jio has been offering unlimited voice calls for free with its prepaid plans until recently. Last month, the long debate regarding IUC charges made the company bring a few changes to its portfolio. Now, it has revised its Rs. 149 prepaid plan and has shortened its validity period and limited the free voice calling benefits as well.
Soon after introducing the IUC charges wherein users will have to pay 6 paise per minute for voice calls made from their Jio number to non-Jio numbers, the telco came up with some All-in-One Packs that bundle IUC voice calling minutes too. Also, the telco moved the Rs. 149 prepaid plan to the All-in-One plans section to provide wholesome benefits to subscribers.
Reliance Jio Rs. 149 Prepaid Plan Revised
Reliance Jio has revised the Rs. 149 plan to provide 300 minutes of Jio to non-Jio voice calls. Earlier, it provided unlimited voice calling benefits to all subscribers. Also, the validity of this prepaid plan has reduced from 28 days to 24 days after the recent revision.
The other benefits remain the same and it still offers unlimited voice calls to Jio numbers, 1.5GB data per day, and 100 SMS per day throughout its validity period. The revised plan is available on the official Jio website.
Other Jio All-in-One Plans
The other new Jio All-in-One plans are priced at Rs. 222, Rs. 333, Rs. 444, and Rs. 555. These plans are touted to be 20% to 50% cheaper than the existing plans from rival telecom operators. Notably, these plans are valid for a period of up to three months. Basically, with every additional Rs. 111 of additional payment over the entry-level plan, the telco offers an additional one month of benefits.
What We Think
As of now, there is no clarity regarding why the Rs. 149 prepaid plan has been revised to offer lesser benefits to subscribers. However, the All-in-One plans offered by the telco are quite beneficial as these are much cheaper including the IUC top-up packs with the base recharge plan.
