Prepaid Plans Price Hike: Reliance Jio, Airtel Subscribers Can Queue Recharge Ahead Of December 1
Last week, we came across a report that all telecom operators in India will raise their tariffs. Following this announcement, Vodafone Idea was the first one to announce a hike in its tariffs starting from December 1. Later, Reliance Jio, Airtel, and BSNL have also joined the telco and have announced that they will increase their tariffs in the coming weeks.
While it is known that there will be an increase in the tariffs, the big question in the minds of subscribers is how much will the prices go up. As per recent reports, subscribers of Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone are expected to spend up to 20% more on all recharge plans from December 1.
Up To 20% Hike On Tariffs
Going by the recent move in the telecom industry, the prepaid tariff plans will see a price hike by 15% to 20% from December. As a result, those subscribers who are paying Rs. 199 for a prepaid plan will have to pay an additional cost taking the pricing to Rs. 220 or more. However, there is respite as select telcos let subscribers queue prepaid recharges ahead to avoid paying the additional cost.
How To Queue Prepaid Recharge
Well, Airtel and Reliance Jio subscribers can queue their prepaid recharges ahead of the price hike. For instance, if your prepaid plan expires on November 30, then you can recharge it ahead. When you check the validity, it will show the expiry date along with when the new plan will be activated.
Interestingly, you can also do queue your recharge if your existing plan will expire on December 15. you can recharge it right now and the new plan will be activated only on December 16, which is after the expiry of the old plan. The validity details can be checked via MyJio and Airtel apps.
What We Think
The catch is that you can queue prepaid plans on Airtel and Reliance Jio alone for now. If you want to get the most out of this option, then you can queue a prepaid plan recharge with higher validity. As per a report by TelecomTalk, some subscribers of Airtel have issues with queuing up their recharge and they can contact the customer care to get the same resolved.
